Rick A. McCandless, 52, of Bath, a loving husband, father, son and brother passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 24, in the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. Rick and his wife Monica D. (Mondschein) McCandless celebrated 27 years of marriage on May 28. Born January 22, 1958 in Bethlehem, he was the son of Myrtle R. ( Hack) McCandless, of Bath and the late Ralph J. McCandless Jr. Rick was an owner and operator of Blue Mountain Insurance Inc., of Saylorsburg. Rick was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the following organizations, Bath Jaycees, Nazareth Rotary, Bath East Allen Youth Club, and the Northampton Football Booster. Rick also coached softball, baseball, soccer and basketball for the Bath East Allen Youth Club and he coached wrestling, basketball, baseball and football for Moore Township Athletic Association. He graduated from Northampton High School and received his Associates Degree from the Northampton Community College. Rick was a Free and Accepted Mason and belonged to the Manoquesy Lodge # 413, Bath. Survivors: Besides his wife, Monica; his mother, Myrtle; daughter, Trisha A., wife of Sean Collins; son, Kyle A. McCandless; brother, Ralph McCandless, and his wife, Brenda; sister, Jane, wife of Lester Snyder, Teri, wife of Ray Bishop, Sandy, wife of Joe Yudt, of Whitehall, 17 nieces; and nephews. Services: Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, August 28, at 11 a.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church, 323 Nazareth-Pike, Bethlehem, (Route 191) Lower Nazareth Twp. Family and friends may call Saturday, 10 a.m. until time of service.
